College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts & Cases

Out of the 1,360 pooled tests MCC conducted last week, one positive case of COVID-19 was identified. Monroe County did notify us of one new positive case identified through another testing source since our last update on March 12.

Currently:

  • 1 student is isolating on campus.
  • 6 students are isolating off campus.
  • 1 student is in mandatory quarantine on campus
  • 5 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.

MCC pooled testing stats to date:

  • 15,558 completed COVID-19 pooled tests
  • 31 total cases identified among students and employees through pooled testing.
  • 0.20% positivity rate.

This week, mandatory pooled (saliva) testing sessions will be held 2:30-6:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 23 and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24 in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus. No appointment necessary.  

MCC adheres to state and county guidelines and requires mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing, respiratory etiquette, and daily health self-assessments on campus. Please check the SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker for the latest information.
