Calls for comment: SUNY Proposed General Education Framework and Discussion Draft of SUNY Revised Policy: Award of Academic Credit by Evaluation.

Please see the attached items for comment provided by SUNY Provost-in-Charge, Shadi Sandvik. The General Education Framework document sets out the second phase in the planned three-phased shared-governance review and revision for updating SUNY’s General Education policy. The current phase looks at how SUNY colleges can be better prepared to meet the challenges of 21st century global citizenship.  Please send comments in regards to the SUNY General Education Policy to Maureen Karlnoski at mkarlnoski@monroecc.edu by end of business Monday, April 19, 2021.

The revised policy on the award of academic credit by evaluation (also known as ‘prior learning assessment,’ ‘credit for prior learning,’ or ‘learning recognition’) seeks to align SUNY’s approach with recent advancements in the practice at the national level.  Please send comments in regards to the Award of Academic Credit by Evaluation to Maureen Karlnoski at mkarlnoski@monroecc.edu by end of business Friday, April 2, 2021.
