MCC Upward Bound Shadow Day Experience
MCC Upward Bound is proud to collaborate with several MCC professors at both campuses to present the 8th Upward Bound Shadow Day, Tuesday, November 5. Upward Bound is a pre-collegiate program that targets students who will be in the first generation of their family to go to college. The goal of Shadow Day is for students to have a non-intimidating while simultaneously inspiring "first-dip" into a future career or major. Students will attend one or two MCC classes in the morning and debrief over lunch. The following professors are among those who have agreed to help with this project: Elizabeth Mandly, Bert Gamory, Janet Waasdorp, Kath Rozanski, Njeru Murage, Kara Tierney, Michelle Parker, Christine Plumieri, Adrian Smalls and Dina Giovanelli. Students will benefit from their passions and expertise in Human Services, Sociology, Criminal Justice, English, History, Psychology, Education, and Biology. The students will be encouraged to participate, take notes, ask questions and engage in these classes. If you would like to be involved, please email lenglish4@monroecc.edu
