Instructors: Do you have students with testing accommodations in your class? Read this!

For instructors who have students with testing accommodations, you have seen some changes in Testing Services this semester. 

We are expanding our current use of Registerblast test scheduling software to include electronic test submissions for instructors. The goal is to streamline processes for students receiving testing accommodations. 

Some FAQs about the process:

Can I still pick up a hard copy of the test in the testing center?

 Yes! You can choose your method of test return, and instructor pick up is still an option.

How do I know my test is secure?

Registerblast is a secure, FERPA-compliant portal. The exams you submit electronically can only be accessed by    professional staff in Testing Services. We will print out the test when the student arrives and is ready to test in our secure  center. Tests do not leave the office, electronically or otherwise, without explicit instructor permission.

So no more envelopes?

Instead of the student bringing you an envelope to fill out and return to Testing, you will now receive an electronic notification via email that the student has registered for your test. You will be provided with a link to submit the test and instructions to the testing center. 

Why are we changing the system?

Testing Services has been using Registerblast behind the scenes since 2016.  Faculty volunteers tested a pilot program of electronic submissions in 2018-2019.  This pilot program was very successful, and we received helpful feedback which helped with the broad implementation. Testing Services, like many departments, has been affected by the pandemic changes, and having a central electronic portal creates a better student experience. 

How do I log in to Registerblast?

If you need to set up your password, click "Need password or account assistance." Your password is not automatically the same as your MCC credentials, unless you set it up that way. Your username is always your MCC email address.

How do I know if I have a Registerblast Account?

If you haven't used Registerblast yet, Testing Services staff will set up your account when a student makes an appointment. You will then receive an email from Registerblast instructing you to set your password to access your account.

What if multiple students are taking the same test?

You can create one submission. When you see the "Student Name" field, enter each student's name with a comma separating them.
