MCC Daily Tribune

Top 10 Things to Know: December 2021

Dear Faculty and Staff, Please know that the information below will be shared today with students.

  1. Congratulations if you are among the more than 550 Tribunes who are graduating this month! We are so proud of you and hope you will plan to join us at Commencement on June 2, 2022 at the Blue Cross Arena!
  2. MCC’s break week begins tomorrow, December 24 through Sunday, January 2, 2022. MCC campuses and sites are closed and not accessible during break week.
  3. MCC will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 17.
  4. The spring 2022 semester registration deadline for matriculated students (students who are in a degree program) is Tuesday, January 18. This deadline does not apply to non-matriculated students.
  5. Intersession starts on Monday, January 3. If you plan to take in person classes, you must verify vaccination against COVID-19 or obtain an exemption prior to attending your first class. (More information, medical and religious exemption forms, and a link to the Student Health Services Portal are available online under COVID-19 Updates & Resources.)
  6. If you verified your vaccination or received a medical or religious exemption during the fall 2021 semester, you will not have to re-verify your status prior to intersession or the spring 2022 semester. Weekly testing will continue to be required if you received an exemption.
  7. MCC’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement does not include getting a booster at this time. (This is subject to change pending state and local guidance.) However, we encourage you to get a booster if you are eligible and upload an image of your vaccination card into the Student Health Services Portal.
  8. If you plan to take in-person classes, work on campus, live in the residence halls, or participate in on-campus activities or services during intersession and/or the spring semester, you must:
    • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
    • Have had at least one vaccine dose and have been granted a temporary medical accommodation to complete any vaccine series; or
    • Have been granted a medical or religious exemption.
  9. If you plan to take all online or remote classes during the spring semester and do not submit verification of vaccination against COVID-19, you must complete the attestation, found in the Student Health Services Portal, stating that you will not participate in on-campus activities or services during the spring semester.
  10. Even after verifying your vaccination status, you must follow MCC health and safety protocols such as wearing face coverings when inside college buildings.

Thank you for studying with us!

P.S. MCC health and safety protocols are subject to change pending federal, state and local guidance. Please send your questions to covid19response@monroecc.edu.
