Student Government Association Food Pantry

The MCC Student Government Association is seeking donations to replenish the food pantry, designed to help students in need. The food pantry serves students who have no food and no money to buy food, and/or are in need of temporary assistance by way of an occasional snack or meal.

Hundreds of students have been served through the generous donations of the college community throughout the years. The food pantry is not meant to be a long-term solution, but a means of providing emergency nourishment when the need arises. Most often, a student is looking for food to eat immediately and occasionally students need the means to bring food home to feed their families.

We are seeking recently purchased foods that do not need refrigeration, such as food that can be microwaved or eaten cold. Examples include canned meats, beans and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, rice mixes, soups, canned chili and stew, etc. Breakfast bars, snack packs, single-serve fruit, single-serve cracker packages, and other such items would also be greatly appreciated.

If you know of a student in need, please help to protect their confidentiality by directing them to the Health Services office in 3-165 or the Counseling Services office 3-103/105.

Donations may be dropped off at the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development, 3-126.

Thank you in advance for helping our students!
