Day 4 of Take a Brain Break Week

The Cambridge Dictionary defines meditation as “the act of giving your attention to only one thing, either as a religious activity or as a way of becoming calm and relaxed”. With everything happening to and around us, relaxing can be difficult. Meditation practice can help. In “Top 10 Meditation Tips for Beginners”, the five best meditation techniques for beginners are presented:

  • Breathing Meditation
  • Mantra Meditation
  • Walking Meditation
  • Kirtan Kriya Meditation
  • Binaural Beats Meditation

Therapeutic Thursday in the LVG (Brighton) Library brings you the opportunity to attend a LIVE guided meditation practice with Transitional Studies Professor (and MCC’s meditation guru) Donna Burke. No experience necessary! Join us in the library classroom, 2-423, at noon. Your brain will thank you later.

Our final day of Take a Brain Break Week tomorrow (Fun Friday) is going to be one you won’t want to miss! Counseling and Disability Services will have a make-your-own mindfulness kit. Games will be lead by CampusOne80, SWORD, and Chess Club. And Gretta, the therapy dog, makes a return and will be looking forward to being petted by you!
