MCC Adjunct Receives National Attention

James M. Valenti, an adjunct assistant professor in the Law/Criminal Justice Department, has composed a series of poems that have been published on the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society website.

The four poems deal with famous historical court cases and are accompanied by interesting facts about the parties involved and their outcomes. The selections were made from Valenti’s Poetic Journey Through Supreme History, an 80-poem body of work.

The poems are located at HYPERLINK "https://www.supremecourthistory.org/" \\n www.supremecourthistory.org, click on “Learning Center,” then “Curriculum Support.”

Valenti has taught at MCC since 1998 and is also a visiting assistant professor at SUNY Brockport, where, among other courses, he teaches a course in Supreme Court history. The Greece resident says, “I get fulfillment from the process of imparting the civics nature of the workings of the court.” He has been inspired by his frequent visits to Washington, D.C. and attends the annual Supreme Court Historical Society dinner with the Supreme Court justices.
