We communicate policies, give directions, and respond to questions that students pose on a regular basis. Are these exchanges as effective as they could be? Please join colleagues Donna Burke (Counseling Center and Veteran Services) and Karen Coffey (Visual & Performing Arts) at November’s Adjunct Supper for Success as we explore theories behind effective communication, discuss the reasons for our (sometimes) ineffective communication, and then rework some common professor-student comments using assertive language that can have a dynamic outcome on the relationships that we have with our students.
