Recyclng Event at MCC raises $3,000 for WWFD Scholarship Fund!

Thanks to everybody who made the Maven Technologies recycling event on April 13 an extraordinary success!  Together on a cold and blustery Saturday, we raised $3,000 which will help to endow the Lt. Michael J. Chiapperini and Tomasz M. Kaczowka Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The support we raised will fund scholarships for students in the MCC Fire Protection Technology program and we look forward to telling you more about the first student to receive this scholarship support!

Special thanks to our awesome student volunteers for their energy and enthusiasm: Ryan Baldwin, Thien Tang, Chris Vasquez, and Robert Yotat.

We are grateful to MCC alumnus and firefighter Brad Kommeth for his leadership service and helping to steer us in the right direction.

Many, many thanks to:  Roxanne Cimo (Controllers Office), Patty Giverson (Campus Events) and Mary Rizzo (School to College Alliances)!  On a very cold day, they kept the spirit high.

Extra appreciation goes to Maven Technologies, especially Ken Johnson and Todd Wheaton, for choosing the MCC Foundation and for being so passionate about this fundraiser in honor of Chip and Tomasz.

Thanks to Kim Dodson, Christyn Sanagursky, Karen Shaw, and Alicia Zona from the MCC Foundation for embracing this event with enthusiasm and to Diane Shoger for her early morning efforts Friday, April 12 that helped draw people to the event.
