MCC women's basketball player Michelle Peebles and men's basketball player Aaron Williams were named the MCC Athletes of the Week.
Peebles was named Most Valuable Player of the Cougar Holiday Classic at Genesee Community College over the weekend. The 6-2 sophomore forward averaged 14.5 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Tribunes won twice. She had 23 points and 15 rebounds in the championship game.
Williams was named MVP as the Monroe men won the 18th annual Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarship Basketball Tournament. In two games the sophomore averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.5 steals.
