Community College Daily: MCC Star Power Scholarships Support Single Moms (and Dads)

In its June 3 article "A hand up for single mothers," Community College Daily extends the story of what community colleges are doing to support single mothers as they work toward college degrees. Gretchen Wood, executive director of the MCC Foundation, shares how the MCC Foundation's STAR Power Scholarship program has helped single parents achieve their MCC degree.

The story builds on the recent news of the Education Design Lab selecting four community colleges, including Monroe Community College, to participate in a multi-year design challenge that will test and scale strategies to dramatically improve success rates for single mothers over the next six years.
