Michael Johnson, Counselor, DCC Student Services, facilitated a session titled: “All Aboard: Smooth Transition of Disabled Students to Community Colleges,” a symposium designed for disability support service providers and faculty and staff at the July 2006 AHEAD (Association on Higher Education and Disability) conference in San Diego, California. He also co-presented the session: “African American and Native American Students with Disabilities: Uncovering the Myths and Realities,” a two-part symposium to aid participants in developing a more holistic and accurate perspective of how students with disabilities from two different cultures face multiple challenges.
Michael is honored to have been asked to serve on the program planning committee for the AHEAD 2007 conference as a result of his contributions. The theme for the conference in 2007 is “Of Pride, Prejudice and Passion,”
