Dr. Medea Rambish Appointed Dean of Academic Foundations

I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Medea Rambish's appointment as Dean of Academic Foundations was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on August 14, 2017.

Medea earned a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Widener University, an M.Ed. degree in Language and Literacy and a B.A. degree in English, both from Penn State University.

Medea is joining us from Waubonsee Community College in Illinois where she has been serving as the Dean of Developmental Education and College Readiness since 2012. At Waubonsee, Dr. Rambish led a full-scale developmental course redesign to accelerate students through developmental coursework to transition successfully to college-level work. She collaborated with the student services area to implement appropriate course placement systems, developed academic support initiatives for on-time degree or certificate completion, and also oversaw a partnership with 24 high schools that promoted early college readiness. Medea has provided leadership for a number of institutional and state-level committees and organizations. Most recently, she served as the President of the Illinois Learning Specialists and Developmental Educators. She was honored by that organization with the Excellence in Support for Developmental Programs Award in 2016.

Please join me in welcoming Medea to MCC and to the role of Academic Dean.
