MCC's Kim McKinsey-Mabry, Ed.D. to address the Class of 2020

Kim McKinsey-Mabry, Ed.D., dean, Schools of Business & Community Engagement, will deliver the Message to the Graduates at MCC's 57th annual Commencement, Saturday morning, May 30 at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. Dr. McKinsey-Mabry is a member of the MCC Class of 1995. She believes her success in the field of higher education is a direct result of beginning her academic studies and career at MCC.

Upon graduating from Rochester's East High School, Dr. McKinsey-Mabry began her studies at MCC. She gave birth to her daughter after her first, fall semester and returned to her studies the following semester, determined to earn a college degree. She frequently shares her personal story to inspire others, especially women, to pursue higher education.

Following the completion of her MCC associate degree in liberal arts and a certificate in human services, Dr. McKinsey-Mabry pursued a bachelor's degree in community and human services management from SUNY Empire State. She earned an MBA at Metropolitan College of New York (NYC), followed by a doctorate in executive leadership from St. John Fisher College.

Dr. McKinsey-Mabry's leadership has contributed to many MCC initiatives, including the Schools @ MCC, transition to the Downtown Campus, the Dr. Alice Holloway Young Program as well as a variety of grants and college partnerships.

She currently serves on the board for Dress for Success Rochester. She previously served on the boards for the Rochester Education Foundation and Jefferson Avenue Childhood Development Center. The Democrat and Chronicle recognized her as a "Woman to Watch" in 2013.

Please join me in looking forward to Dr. McKinsey-Mabry's Message to the Graduates as our 2020 Commencement keynote. She is sure to inspire!
