Media Coverage of 2022 Commencement

WHAM-AM radio personality Bob Lonsberry interviewed three MCC class of 2022 members on his program, recognizing their achievements and announcing MCC's Commencement. He spoke with:

  • U.S. Army veteran Mark T. Payton, who earned a degree in graphic design, about his MCC experience, his artistic and graphic design talents, and his battle against cancer on June 3.
  • Jimmie Salone, who received a degree in optical systems technology, about how he learned about the optics field and has made it his career on June 2.
  • Nia Beazer, who holds a degree, certificate and microcredential in geospatial information science technology, about the benefits of online learning and her success as an online student on June 1.

Channel 10 (WHEC-TV) attended the Commencement ceremony on June 2 in the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial and interviewed Mark and Nia about their educational journey and experiences.

Many thanks to faculty and staff members Jonathon Little, Dr. Alexis Vogt and Eric Wheeler for connecting us with those students.
