TCC: What's Happening in the First Year Faculty Series?

Did you know that all of our full time, tenure track faculty are required to participate in the monthly First and Second Year Faculty Series as a condition of their hire?

And, did you know that the FYFS and SYFS have gone through significant revisions in the past four years?

In an effort to communicate some of the outstanding work and development that our faculty do through the Teaching and Creativity Center, we will be highlighting the FYFS and SYFS throughout the year.

The goals of the FYFS are to improve instruction and develop reflective habits. This year's cohort has been using a weekly reflection journal modeled off research from Taking College Teaching Seriously: Pedagogy Matters! They have been learning about integrated course design and thinking how to apply that in an equitable and inclusive way with our students. This work is not easy, and all of the faculty deserve huge kudos for their active engagement (on Fridays from 3 - 5!).
