Provost Wade Comments on the New York State Student Success Coaching Academy

The May 2 Community College Daily article, Coaching for student success and educational equity by Jennifer Dubin, explores the impact of the New York State Student Success Coaching Academy on college educators and institutions.

With ties to the American Association of Community Colleges’ (AACC) Guided Pathways Project, the Coaching Academy offers professional development and training opportunities to help college leaders increase degree/certificate completion and facilitate transformational change on college campuses.

Within the article, MCC Provost and Vice President for Academic Services Dr. Andrea Wade is quoted as saying, “This is not only an effort to improve student success overall … It’s explicitly about equity.”

According to the article, the Coaching Academy is also focused on reducing gaps among students of color, first-generation students and those eligible for financial aid.

Provost Wade serves on the Coaching Academy’s leadership team.

Community College Daily is produced by the AACC.
