Periodic Review of MSCHE Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is conducting a periodic review of its Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. MSCHE is describing this review as a “refresh” rather than a substantial overhaul of the Standards and Requirements. Member institutions are encouraged to provide comments on the following five areas identified as the focus of this review:

1. Requirements of Affiliation

Is there a continued need to maintain some or all Requirements of Affiliation separate from the Standards?

2. Verification of Compliance with Accreditation-Relevant Federal Regulations

How can the Commission best ensure compliance with accreditation-relevant federal regulatory requirements?

3. ROA 6 and Standard II, Criterion 8, Compliance with MSCHE Policies

How can institutions best demonstrate and the Commission evaluate compliance with all policies and procedures?

4. Diversity Equity and Inclusion

What revisions are appropriate to address the increasingly diverse student populations?

5. Data-Based Decision Making

What revisions would support institutional understanding of appropriate data and use of key indicators that demonstrate achievement of institutional and degree/program goals and improvement?

To learn more about this process, please visit MSCHE’s Periodic Review website, or contact Susan Hall: shall60@monroecc.edu

Please submit comments and/or feedback to Susan Hall.
