The Educational Opportunity Program Presents the "Pay It Forward" Initiative

If there has ever been a moment where you said to yourself “Wow, I’d sure like to help someone, but I don’t know how and don’t have the time.”, then the EOP’s “Pay It Forward” Initiative is perfect for you.  You can have a small hand in something big and important; “Pay It Forward” can really make a difference.

The “Pay It Forward” Foundation was established in September 2000 by Catherine Ryan Hyde who authored the book “Pay It Forward.” Her goal was to educate and inspire students to help change the world through random acts of kindness.  The idea is that you perform a random act of kindness for someone which can have a positive waterfall effect on the world.  We at EOP have chosen to participate in the concept of “Pay It Forward.”

This initiative will benefit: Crestwood Children’s Center, Center for Youth and Alternatives for Battered Women.

Initiative Dates:   Oct 22nd- Nov. 22nd

Items:   PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS (i.e. shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, toothbrushes/paste, combs, cash, etc.)

Drop off Locations:  Brighton Campus – The EOP Office (3-101)
Damon City Campus (The Student Services Center –5252)

This is an opportunity for all of us to pay back into our community.  If you have already donated, on behalf of the EOP and the women and children we are striving to help, thank you!  If you haven’t already donated, then what are you waiting for?????

As a Kick Off to our program, on Oct 31st the EOP participants will be “Trick or Treating” for personal hygiene Item “treats.” Please join us in this endeavor of kindness and bring in an item to drop into our baskets as we travel throughout the college campus on that day.   Thank you.
