MCC Daily Tribune

Greetings of Gratitude

Thank you notes from across the campus continue to roll-in. The link is still open, so please submit your thank you here!!!

Michael Quinn, from the Controller's Office for because his "department worked weeks prior to make it would run smoothly. Mike and his managers made sure that all aspects of our department were operational to work virtual. We were able to do test runs for payroll, accounts payable, accounting services, travel, accounts receivable, grants and purchasing. His team also worked together to come up with a schedule for the essential workers. The mail room has also been working hard through this crazy time. Thank you all for your time and efforts! Way to go Controllers Department!"

Jerome St. Croix, Director of Financial Aid Compliance was nominated because, "Jerome has been an incredible advocate for students during this time of transition. As students have reached out to me to ask questions about withdrawing, I have connected them with Jerome for advice about the impact to their financial aid. Jerome has been very responsive to student requests and is always able to help guide the student to help them make the right decision. If it were not for Jerome, I believe we would have lost many more students during this very stressful time."

Janet Ekis, College Relations Specialist in the Marketing and Web office, was nominated: "Thank you to Janet Ekis, Marketing and Web, for creatively keeping the MCC family connected and informed through social media channels. While our campuses are quiet due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tribune Pride is strong in digital spaces. As a complement to the college's website, MCC's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other channels are the doors through which prospective students and their families are introduced to MCC. Janet helps us all make great first and lasting impressions through her highlights of the MCC community and the sharing of important and positive news. MCC is stronger and successful because of her good work."

Sylvia Lavin, Department Secretary, Business Administration for "continuing to be the colleague holding our department together. Sylvia worked quickly to update the contact information for each department member. She followed up with each faculty member to determine if equipment was needed while working from home. Additionally, Sylvia scans the Tribune each day to make sure faculty do not miss critical information or professional development opportunities. Sylvia, thank you for the excellent job you continue to do."

The Office of Veteran Services would like to thank all of our faculty who have helped our military veterans and those still serving during this semester. Assistant Director, Eric Wheeler, said faculty have gone above and beyond in their support of this population of students and these actions will directly contribute to the success of our students. Thank you!
