TV, Radio Stations Report on MCC 9/11 Ceremony
Seventeen years since the 9/11 terror attacks, nearly 100 members of MCC and the local community gathered Tuesday on Brighton Campus to reflect and remember lives lost and the sacrifices of first responders and military service members/veterans.
MCC alumnus and Navy veteran Dwight Moxley II and Pastor David Stewart of Destiny Preparation Church in Rochester served as keynote speakers. Patriot Guard Riders and the Rochester Fire Department also lent their support during the ceremony.
WXXI News radio interviewed MCC student Bernard Butler, president of Student Government Association and a Navy veteran:

The September 11 memorial on Brighton Campus was erected in 2002 as a result of early efforts of several MCC student leaders, who quickly drew the support of other students, administrators and local businesses. The effort to design, build and dedicate a place of remembrance was driven by a desire to create a distinct place for reflection and healing within the community. MCC students annually organize this remembrance ceremony.
