"Understanding Open Licensing" Webinar on Wednesday in the Library

Come join us to learn more about Creative Commons licenses! The LeRoy V. Good Library will host a group viewing of the interactive webinar “Understanding Open Licensing” at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 in Room 2-423 (4th floor of the library). All faculty and staff are invited to this webinar sponsored by the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER). The featured speakers will be Quill West, OER Program Manager at Pierce Community College District, and Cable Green, Director of Open Education at Creative Commons.

Here is CCCOER’s description of the webinar: “Open licensing of instructional materials such as textbooks, videos, and other related resources makes possible free sharing and remixing which reduces cost barriers for students. Creative Commons provides the legal infrastructure for easily sharing creative works including instructional materials but how do the different licenses indicate how a resource can be reused. Join us for an interactive session of playbook license scenarios where you test your knowledge of the OER reuse based on license type.”
