Three Mathematics Department faculty members presented last Saturday, November 10, at the regional New York State Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges conference - Ready, Set, Go Math! - held at Genesee Community College. Judy Dean presented The Flipped Classroom describing the format she is trying in her Intermediate and College Algebra classes. Students watch video presentations of new material before coming to class so that class time can be spent practicing problems with help from the instructor. Aimee Calhoun and Linda Carson shared their experiences with sharing the power of mathematics with MCC students last April during the Department’s first annual celebration of Mathematics Awareness Month.
