<p><strong>COVID-19 Testing Sessions Held Today and Tomorrow</strong><br />
Located in the Flynn Campus Center Forum (3-130), MCC&rsquo;s Testing Center will be open 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, April 25 and 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, April 26.<strong> </strong>No appointment is necessary. MCC uses COVID-19 antigen rapid tests&mdash;a simple and more comfortable nasal test.</p>

<p>Monitoring your health before coming to campus and testing are key factors to our ability to stop the spread of the virus and its variants on campus.</p>

<p><strong>This Week&rsquo;s Surveillance Testing Groups</strong><br />
COVID-19 testing helps MCC quickly respond to potential outbreaks of COVID-19. Surveillance testing of specific groups of students and employees is an important part of our spring health and safety plan. Groups invited and encouraged to participate in COVID-19 testing today or tomorrow include:</p>

<li>Monday, April 25: Facilities, Building Services, Public Safety, Communications and Network Services, and Information and Computer Technologies (all MCC locations)</li>
<li>Tuesday, April 26: All Office Support Staff (all MCC locations)</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Last Week&rsquo;s Testing Results:</strong><br />
Following are results received for MCC-administered COVID-19 tests during the week of April 18:</p>

<li>2 positive cases were identified among students, faculty and staff who participated in MCC-administered testing during the week of April 18.</li>
<li>4 students are isolating off campus.</li>
<li>No students are isolating on campus.</li>
<li>No students are in quarantine and precautionary quarantine.</li>
<li>MCC 7-Day Rolling Average On-campus Positivity Rate
<ul>
<li>Students: 1.89%</li>
<li>Employees: 0.0%</li>
<li>Overall average on-campus positivity rate since onset of pooled testing: 0.31%</li>

<li>No employee is currently subject to a MCDOH quarantine order.</li>
<li>7 employees received a COVID isolation order based on off-campus administered testing. T<em>hese employees will need to complete their five-day isolation order requirement as of 4/24/2022 before they can be released from isolation with a strict masking requirement for an additional five days after release.</em></li>

COVID-19 Case Update, COVID-19 Transmission Rate High in Monroe County

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (link to CDC website) the COVID-19 transmission rate in Monroe County is high. The CDC recommends the following prevention steps when the level is high:

  • Wear a mask indoors in public
  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
  • Get tested if you have symptoms
  • Additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness
