Article Features Alumni and 2 Academic Programs

Two MCC alumni talk about their educational and job training experiences in a Democrat and Chronicle article about jobs and careers in the Finger Lakes region.

"How two people found career pathways through MCC programs" profiles Dahiana Tague, an entrepreneur who completed the certified nurse assistant program and earned state certification, and Will Kurtz, who earned a micro-credential through the HVAC Jumpstart program.

"This profession is not just a stepping-stone, it allows me the flexibility to be present for my family,” Tague said.

Kurtz, a pre-apprentice in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field, said, “Our work and the training associated with it is really hands-on. My employer hired me right from the program.”

The article also includes interviews with Dr. Marcia Lynch, director of health care programs at the Downtown Campus, and John Troy, program director of skilled trades and industrial technology.
