End of Year Celebrations

As the spring semester comes to a close, MCC's end-of-year celebrations draw near.  Over the next few weeks, we will have a number of opportunities to celebrate in person the inspiring successes of our students and the accomplished careers of our employees.  From now and through the first week of June we have the chance to reflect on the accomplishments of our remarkable Tribunes and to understand the often-challenging journeys they traveled to get to MCC.  Convocation and Commencement in particular, provide our students the opportunity to shine and allow us the opportunity to reflect on all they have endured and achieved the past two years, and to applaud their success. The Employee Recognition Ceremony offers an opportunity to celebrate the many contributions our colleagues have made and to honor their years of service to the MCC community.

Significantly, the celebrations of our students also shine a spotlight on MCC's dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators who have inspired our students to work harder and aim higher than they ever thought possible. Your presence as they celebrate their accomplishments makes them more meaningful for our students and their families—and it also underscores the role you played in fostering their achievements. Your attendance at and support of these events means the world to our students: You helped them reach these milestones, complete their goals, and achieve excellence. They want to celebrate with you because you are at the heart of their success.

This truly is the very best time of year at Monroe Community College--each celebration is unique, each a truly extraordinary gift. It is an honor to join in the joy, laughter, and tears that these commemorations always bring. On behalf of our students and our College, thank you for making these wonderful days possible!

With many thanks,

Bethany Gizzi and Kim McKinsey-Mabry
