Reminder: WAC Chat This Wednesday

The Writing Across the Curriculum Committee hopes to see you this Wednesday, Dec. 8, 12-1:00 PM, for an end-of-semester WAC Chat, an informal gathering to reflect on how your fall WR course(s) went, share experiences and expertise, and learn something about the writing that students do at MCC.

The Zoom meeting information is in the attached PDF. You can also join the meeting from the Events Calendar.

Participants will be invited to contribute to a shared Padlet in reponse to the following prompts:

• If you assigned writing this semester: What do you value about writing-enhanced pedagogy, and what do your students get from it? How did your course writing assignments enrich or benefit your students' learning? 
• If you have not yet but are considering using writing to assess student learning: What is it about writing that you expect will be valuable in your course? What benefits will it bring to your teaching and to your students' learning?

For both prompts, frame your responses in terms of student knowledge/skills/attitudes/mindsets, and how writing enhances those things in ways that are different from other forms of assessment (e.g. tests).
