The signing ceremony was the culmination of a two-week, student-led awareness campaign promoting college completion and the value of a credential. President Obama has called on community colleges across the nation to produce an additional 5 million graduates by 2020 as part of his goal to restore the United States as the world's leader in college graduates. During the ceremony, MCC faculty, staff and administrators also signed a pledge to support students in their college completion goal. So far, 499 signatures have been counted as of Monday evening.
