MCC Economic and Workforce Development Center produces Careers of the Future mini-movie

The Economic and Workforce Development Center (EWDC) partnered with Edge Factor, a video production company, to produce a mini-movie titled "Careers of the Future." The video narrates how emerging Industry 4.0 technologies like AI, automation, robotics, cyber security, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are all impacting industry and creating job opportunities in the Finger Lakes region. Industry partners of the EWDC who are featured in the mini-movie include: LiDestri Food and Drink, Wegmans Food Markets, Advanced Atomization Technologies, Greenpac Mill, Green Spark, and the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The Careers of the Future mini-movie is part of a larger project focused on better understanding the future of work in the local economy. Production was made possible by a generous grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. The EWDC would also like to thank the MCC Foundation for their partnership assisting the division in securing this grant funding.

Additional support of this project includes The Future of the Technician Workforce Study, which the EWDC plans to release this May. This report is based on input from over 80 local companies outlining the skill-sets that will be required of the future technician workforce in our local economy.

The Careers of the Future mini-movie can be viewed online at www.mccediws.com.
