Optics Faculty Interviewed for Reaction to Photonics News

On Wednesday, March 16, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that two photonics companies, Avogy and Photonica, will create more than 1,400 high-tech jobs in Rochester and invest $1.6 billion. The investment comes on the heels of the $600 million Integrated Photonics Institute for Manufacturing Innovation announced in July by Gov. Cuomo and Vice President Joe Biden.

Alexis Vogt, associate professor and endowed chair with the optical systems technology program, was interviewed by News10 NBC (WHEC) and the Democrat and Chronicle for her reactions and comments on how the news will impact the optics program and MCC students.
