SUNY Awards Honorary Doctorate to Board Chair Emerita Dr. Alice Holloway Young

In addition to appointing Dr. Katherine Douglas as MCC's interim president, the SUNY Board of Trustees made another very special and historic decision at its January 28 meeting.

SUNY Trustees conferred an honorary doctorate of humane letters to MCC Founding Trustee and Board Chair Emerita Dr. Alice Holloway Young for her unparalleled vision, leadership and dedication to Monroe Community College. I know you will agree that Dr. Young has greatly influenced the College's vital role in our community and the opportunities we provide to learners from all walks of life. Due in large part to her vision, MCC has become the premier educational institution it is today.

The College community is invited to witness the hooding ceremony and formal presentation of the SUNY citation to Dr. Young on Monday, February 3 at 4 pm in the Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B). The presentation will be made within the MCC Board of Trustees meeting.

Please join College leaders in congratulating Dr. Young. Your presence will make the presentation even more meaningful for her.
