The Peer Mentors are proud to announce their participation in the Clothesline Project as part of their April Anti-Violence Program.
The Clothesline Project was started in 1990 as a way to bring attention to the continuing violence against women. Victims were given T-shirts and invited to express their emotions by decorating them. The Clothesline Project display occurred in the village green in Hyannis, Massachusetts, as part of a “Take Back the Night” March and Rally.
Any person who has been a victim, or knows a victim of violence, and would like to decorate a T-shirt is invited to come to the Peer Assistance Resource Center in Building 3-120. A private space to decorate your shirt will be provided. Your finished shirt will be displayed on a clothesline in the Atrium of the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center through the month of April.
For further information, please contact the Peer Assistance Resource Center at 292-2552.
