Reflections Features Presidential Meals

Starting next Thursday, October 2, 2008 and continuing through Wednesday, October 8, 2008, Reflections Restaurant will be featuring some of the same five-star meals cooked for former President Bill Clinton and our current President George W. Bush.

Hospitality students will be working from a collection of recipes from the book entitled, White House Chef:  Eleven Years, Two Presidents, One Kitchen, written by our very first Visiting Scholar of the year and former White House Chef, Walter S. Scheib, who will be at MCC on October 8th.

On the opening day, Thursday, October 2nd, Reflection’s menu will feature an Americana theme, featuring recipes that may have been enjoyed by all presidents including, Roasted Eggplant Soup, Chicken, Apple and Pecan Salad on Autumn Greens with a Port Wine and Tarragon Vinaigrette.  For dessert you may want to indulge in All American as Apple Pie, George Washington’s Cherry Pie and our very own President Tyree’s Pecan Pie.  And last but not least, as an incentive to encourage students to register to vote, students from the Rock the Vote Committee will be handing out tempting food samples during our Mock Election Process to be held on Tuesday, October 7th and Wednesday, October 8th in the Campus Center and North Atrium.

Stop by and see what all the excitement is about, and don’t forget to watch the Daily Tribune as we invite you to enjoy the specials of the day with us!  You won’t want to miss the free treat just for visiting Reflections during the special “President’s Day Promotion” – Chelsea’s Chocolate Chip Cookies!

These events are sponsored by the Student Association’s Rock the Vote Committee, the Hospitality Department and the Hospitality Club!
