Chase Corporate Challenge to Benefit MCC's National Youth Sports Program

Proceeds from the 17th annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in May will benefit the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at Monroe Community College, Al Sigl Center, Mary Cariola Children’s Center, and the North Star Center at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The NYSP
<https://www.nyscorp.org/> provides boys and girls (ages 9-15) from low-income households with sports instruction and competition as a vehicle to enhance self-esteem, to promote respect for oneself and others, to reinforce the importance of education to one's future, and to promote active, healthy lifestyles. MCC has hosted the program on its Brighton Campus since 1970. In 2006, Congress did not renew funding so support from community organizations, such as the Corporate Challenge, will result in more students will be able to participate.

The Corporate Challenge scheduled for May 31 at Rochester Institute of Technology is poised to top the 10,000 participant mark for first time. The Rochester event is part of the 12-city, six-country, and five-continent JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series, which in 2007 will feature more than 200,000 participants from over 7,000 companies.
