Domestic Violence Stinks!

Did you know that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month? The Counseling Center and Civility Project are teaming up to promote domestic violence awareness throughout the month of October.

On October 13th, 2015 from 11 am to 2 pm in the Flynn Campus Center Atrium, The Civility Project and Counseling Center will be sponsoring a program with the community agency “Resolve” to promote domestic violence awareness.  Resolve is an organization dedicated to eradicating violence against woman and is an excellent resource within the Rochester community.

The event will entail having purple outhouses in the atrium with signs that say, “Domestic Violence Stinks”.  The outhouses represent domestic violence; specifically that it often happens behind closed doors and just plain stinks.  Our 13 stories of domestic violence on college campuses will also be on display.  There will be a resource table and counselors available during the event.  We are also encouraging students to talk about domestic violence and possibly write about it if they feel comfortable.  Please join us to promote awareness on the 13th!
