Fuller, Uda Honored as MCC's Top Athletes

Women's basketball player Trenise Fuller and men's swimmer Kazuma Uda were honored Monday night, receiving the Samuel J. Stabins Outstanding Male and Female Athlete Awards at the 44th annual Monroe Community College Athletic Awards Banquet Monday night.

Fuller, a 6-4 sophomore forward, led the Lady Tribunes to two national tournament appearances and one national title.  She averaged 13.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game and was named a first team All-American.  She shot 63% from the field last season and was twice named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team.

Uda had a spectacular sophomore season for the MCC men's swimming and diving team.  He earned All-American honors in three different events (200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 breaststroke) and was a national champion in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.88.  Uda was the only athlete from a college other than Indian River Community College to win a race at the NJCAA national meet this season.

Other award winners included:
David F. Johns Memorial Scholarship: Dom Sapp, Adam Perlo, Adam Curynski, and Mark Stuckless
Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarships: Joe Lindsey and Tiffany Wilson
