Agriculture and Food Studies Student Profiled in Country Folk West

Interviews with MCC student Craig Tower and Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute Director and Senior Specialist Bob King, Ph.D. were recently featured in the article “Craig Tower goes back to school to become a farmer in mid-life.” The article (attached) was published in the July 20 issue of Country Folks West. A U.S. Navy veteran and American Red Cross volunteer, Tower enrolled in the Agriculture and Food Studies certificate program to learn more about hydroponics and aquaponics in order to be a better farmer. He became a “student again in mid-life” at MCC.

King's perspective was also included in the article “
N.Y. wineries taste global benefits” by Mary Chao, featured in the July 19 issue of the Democrat and Chronicle. The article explores how wineries are growing in number across the state and gaining national attention. King noted how “small wineries are indeed big business for the region.”
