MCC Student Ashley Campbell Awarded ESF Scholarship


Ashley Campbell, a liberal arts – general studies major at MCC, has recently been awarded a National Science Foundation Scholarship and is the recipient of the Academic Competitiveness Grant as part of her admission to SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, NY.  Ashley will begin her studies in Conservation Biology at ESF in Fall 2010.

The National Science Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students studying in the areas of science, technology, engineering, or math.  Recipients of the Academic Competitiveness Grant and the National Science Scholarship are determined by SUNY ESF.

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry is ranked by the U.S. News & World Report as among the top universities in America.  In the "Great Schools, Great Prices" category of the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges, ESF is ranked 17th. ESF is the second highest ranked public school on this list, behind only North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and is the only SUNY institution to be listed.

Congratulations to Ashley!  Her hard work, commitment, and great potential have been recognized by SUNY ESF.
