It's Spring! Breathe Healthy, Live Happy!

The snow is gone.  The sun is shining on MCC.  Facility Services has done a fantastic job of cleaning up the campus and disposing of cigarette butts left in the snow.  MCC is Tobacco-Free both inside and outside.

Are you a non-smoker seeing people smoke on campus and uncomfortable approaching them?  Are you a smoker trying to quit or feeling the urge to smoke?

Health Services may be able to help.  Cards are available that say “Thank you for respecting our tobacco free community”  with an offer to bring your card to Health Services for free gum to help the smoker get through the day without smoking on campus.  Health Services also has nicotine gum and other resources to assist students and staff to quit smoking or not smoke on campus.

Also save the dates:

·         Wednesday April 22 from 12-1pm in the Brick Lounge representatives from URMC Department of Public Health Research Sciences will be here to answer questions on Nicotine Replacement Therapy(NRT).

·         Wednesday April 29 from 12-12:45pm in Building 5-323 the Health, Physical Education & Wellness Club has a workshop and presentation with  speakers from URMC Public Health Research Sciences on “Quitting Tobacco For Good”

It’s spring!  Breathe Healthy, Live Happy!
