On Monday, October 11, 2004, the Admissions Office hosted a Columbus Day Open House. The program was a huge success with over 450 attendees. Approximately 178 high school juniors and seniors representing over 75 area high schools visited MCC with their families.
Many Academic and Student Services departments contributed to the success of this program. The Residential Life staff coordinated over 400 people touring the residence halls. Campus Center Peer Leaders also assisted in giving campus tours which was much appreciated.
We also want to acknowledge MCC faculty and staff who participated in our information tables which included: Campus Center, Career Center, Counseling and Advising, EOP, Honors Program, and Financial Aid. Disciplines that were represented included: Applied Technologies, Business, Chemistry/Geosciences, Education, Engineering Science, Engineering Technology, Hospitality Management, Human Services, Mathematics, and Nursing.
