Child Care Center Recognized for Best Practices

The Children’s Institute is pleased to announce that Monroe Community College Child Care Center’s infant/toddler program has been identified as a demonstration site under a new federally funded grant from the Department of Education. The program will serve as a resource for the entire Rochester community where caregivers, center directors, educators, parents, policy makers, and funders can observe infant/toddler care that is grounded in observation, reflection and an understanding of best practices. The site was chosen for its long-standing commitment to the cornerstones of high quality infant/toddler group care:  knowledgeable and responsive caregiving, continuity of care, primary caregiving, mixed ages, individualized curriculum and routines, and family connection and support.
