Peer Mentors to Hold Credit Abuse Program

The Peer Mentors and Health and Physical Education Department invite the college community to attend their program on credit abuse and credit card debt, which has been on the rise with college students for the past several years.

Please join us on Monday, October 23rd and Wednesday, October 25th at noon in the Forum, Bldg. 3-130.

The guest speaker will be Judge John Ninfo, an expert in the field of federal bankruptcy.  In November of 2002, Judge Ninfo pioneered the Credit Abuse Resistance Education program (C.A.R.E), whose mission is to educate students before they accrue burgeoning debt.  Some of the program’s top 10 financial tips for high school and college students are: Create a Budget, Open a Savings Account, Use Cash, Check or Debit, Pay Your Bills on Time and Minimize Your Student Loan Debt.

For more information, please contact Bob Wirth in the Peer Assistance Resource Center (PARC) at 292-2552.
