Passing of Employee Mary Nolan

It is with regret that we share the sad news that Mary Nolan, Secretary I in the office of the Vice President of Student Services, died Saturday as a result of a motorcycle accident. Mary loved working with students and brought joy to all she did at MCC and beyond. Her loss is felt deeply by us all.

Mary worked with students for all of her MCC career. She joined our family in 2005 as a cashier in Student Accounts and then took a Secretary I position in DCC Student Services in 2010. She came to the Vice President’s office last summer. She loved working with students and her kind, caring approach to helping them succeed was appreciated by students and admired by her colleagues. Mary brought the same passion to her work at MCC as she brought to her love for dance: as a student, dancer, and teacher. In the spring semester, she taught an intramural ballet class and was looking forward to doing the same in the fall.

Mary is survived by two daughters and her mother.

Mary's loss is a shock that we are all still trying to process. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Human Resources for assistance should you feel the need to connect with counseling.

As soon as information regarding services becomes available, we will share it with you.
