Our summer 2014 pilot for Automatic Waitlist Processing (AWL) has officially come to an end. This pilot has been running since January and allowed the student to register themselves from the waitlist after receiving a notification.
The pilot was successful in that hundreds of students registered themselves and it brought up some challenges that are currently being addressed. Our summer student’s biggest challenges centered around their MyMCC accounts. They include: a) getting their MyMCC accounts activated, b) checking their MCC emails and the c) timing of the email notifications.
Is the AWL running for Fall?
For our current Fall 2014 semester, the Automatic Waitlist is running for most classes (except for some BIO). Going forward, Registration and Records will run the Automatic Waitlist Process for our two major semesters – fall and spring. It was determined that due to the mix of students (many Non-Mats) during Intersession and summer, we will process the Waitlist manually for these short terms.
