MCC basketball gears up for Pavia weekend

The MCC men's and women's basketball teams will host the 16th annual Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarship Basketball Tournament this weekend on Monagan Court.

On Saturday, the MCC women will take on Canada’s National Elite Development Academy (NEDA) at 3 p.m.  That will be followed by a men’s game between SUNY Delhi and Harcum College at 5 p.m.

The MCC men will take to the floor at 7 p.m. Saturday, squaring off against CCAC-Allegheny.
The action continues on Sunday with another triple-header.  The Lady Tribunes will battle with NEDA at 11 a.m., followed by the consolation and championship games of the men’s tournament.

Pete Pavia was a longtime Division I basketball official from Rochester and was extremely active in charity efforts for Camp Good Days and Special Times until his death in 1992.

The Monroe athletic department is excited about another Pavia tournament and invites everyone to attend one of MCC's most well-known sporting events.  Tickets for the general public are $3 per day.  Admission is free for those with valid MCC ID's.
