The Nineteenth Model United Nations Program & Class

Students do not miss an opportunity that will change your life. The Model United Nations simulation program & class is an opportunity that will open your eyes to completely new way of looking at the world. Some of you might have heard about the program in your high school or at another college. Over 150 colleges and universities participate in Model UN in the United States either as a club or as a class. Furthermore, there are hundreds of universities outside of the United States that participate every year.

MCC Model UN is in its nineteenth year. It is an honors class; however, students do not have to be honors students to participate. You also do not have to be in a particular major to qualify for the program. What we look for are dedicated students, students who want to make a difference in the world and believe in social justice. This course very interactive, competitive and very popular. Students, who are interested, must apply to be in the course by filling out an application.

What you will learn is the following:

  • Leadership Skills
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Writing intensive skills
  • Public Speaking skills
  • Conflict and Resolution skills
  • Cultural and inclusiveness awareness
  • Foreign Policy
  • Team effectiveness

YOU WILL EARN:

  • Four Credit Hours
  • Travel to the real UN for one week with 5,000 other students from all over the world
  • Participate in the largest International Model UN Conference in New York City
  • Expenses are paid for

You can also attend our first informational session on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at noon in the PRISM Multicultural Center, Building 1 Room 108.
