MCC, Houghton College Offer Dual Admission Option for Students

Beginning this fall, students interested in attending "https://www.houghton.edu/" Houghton College, (Houghton, N.Y.) can chose to complete their first two years at MCC thanks to a dual-admission agreement recently signed by both colleges. Houghton College is the 26th college or university to sign a dual-admission (guaranteed transfer) agreement with MCC.

Upon completion of required courses leading to an associate degree at MCC, students admitted to the dual-admission degree program are assured transfer with full junior-year status at Houghton College. Students complete one application (to MCC) and pay only one application fee. If students satisfy the requirements, they are concurrently admitted to MCC and Houghton College.

Academic programs covered under this agreement include business administration, communication, art, adolescence education, inclusive childhood education, liberal arts (variety of majors), health/physical education and recreation (equestrian studies or environmental recreation concentrations available). The agreement also connects MCC’s associate of science in fine arts degree program with Houghton’s bachelor of fine arts degree program.

Both MCC and Houghton are members of "https://www.biz2edu.com/" Rochester Area Colleges, a consortium of higher education institutions that provide collaborative working opportunities for Rochester-area colleges and their students. Public and private member colleges support the functions of career development, placement and experiential education in the region.

Students or parents interested in more information may contact MCC’s Career and Transfer Center at "mailto:transfer@monroecc.edu" or (585) 292-3348.
