Wednesday's Message

This week, following last week's wonderful celebrations, MCC certainly has become a quieter place. I know that appearances can be deceiving, though, and the MCC community is still buzzing with activity.

For many faculty, summer is the season of professional and personal renewal. Books are being read, long thoughts are being thought, great ideas are being hatched, and seeds of innovation are being planted.

For quite a few of us, summer is a time for preparation, a time when we build up for the rush of fall. While MCC's hallways are less crowded, offices are fuller. Students have come bearing applications, questions, hopes, goals, and dreams. Behind each door, your colleagues are helping students find their way at MCC.

Truly, no matter the season, MCC is ever at work!

Which is why, as the brief Rochester summer warms us over the next couple months, I hope each of you makes time to take a deep breath, settle into a comfortable chair, and reflect on the incredible
difference you have made in the lives of our students this past year.
Thursday night, we congratulated our graduates on their successes.
You deserve congratulations as well. Without your efforts--day in and day out--no one would have crossed the stage last week. Thank you.

I'll be shifting to an every other week Wednesday Message this summer-- and encourage you to enjoy the sun, have some fun, and get ready for a great fall!

So, what are you doing this summer away from MCC? Let me know on the President’s Wednesday Message blog.
