RE: African American Affinity Group

You are cordially invited to attend the Kick-Off event of the “African American Affinity Group” here at Monroe Community College. This event will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 4:00pm in the Brighton Room.

Affinity groups are voluntary associations of people who have common interests and serve as a self-sufficient support system. These groups serve as a resource to provide information, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Under the direction of the Diversity Council, The African American Affinity Group was formed to promote diversity and a provide a forum in which African American employees of MCC can come together and share common interests, issues, and concerns.

This kick-off event will be an exciting time of networking and focusing on the importance of solidarity. Hope to see you there.

Please respond before October 23rd by contacting one of the co-chairs, Karla Baxter "mailto:kbaxter2@monroecc.edu"  or Melany Silas at "mailto:msilas@monroecc.edu"
